Stuttgart went from having almost no dedicated matcha to having three specialists within walking distance of each other. ChaHaus in the Königsbau Passagen is the city's only pure matcha café. ORII Matcha, which opened as Maison Matcha, runs a ceremonial-grade counter inside the Breuninger department store. And since summer 2025, xoxo Matcha at Rotebühlplatz has had queues outside most days. Around them, a handful of cafés with strong matcha menus fill out the scene. All five below are verified open as of September 2026.
Stuttgart's only pure matcha specialist. ChaHaus sits on the second floor of the Königsbau Passagen on Königstraße, and the menu runs to about twelve matcha drinks, from a straight matcha latte to flavoured versions with strawberry, mango, honey pomelo and banana pudding. The quality of the matcha is the point: the drinks taste intensely of it rather than of syrup, and oat and other plant milks are available. There is also food, including matcha cookies, cakes and Korean egg drop sandwiches. Closed on Sundays.
A matcha counter inside the Breuninger department store, opened as Maison Matcha and now trading as ORII Matcha. The setup is precise: a long stainless steel bar, and each drink made with organic ceremonial-grade matcha that is weighed on a scale and whisked with a bamboo chasen. You order at a digital screen, which lets you adjust the drink, and it is card payment only. The menu covers purist hot and iced matcha as well as flavoured versions like raspberry white chocolate, and the counter also sells matcha tools for home. Easy to combine with a shopping trip in the centre.
The matcha café that made Stuttgart's scene visible. Since opening at Rotebühlplatz in summer 2025, xoxo Matcha has drawn daily queues, mostly for its creative drinks: lychee cloud matcha with vegan cream and lychee juice, lavender matcha, coconut cloud matcha and a raspberry white chocolate version. The classic iced matcha latte is there too, with oat milk or an espresso shot as options. It is more about flavour and fun than ceremony, and it is best for a first taste of matcha or for anyone who wants something sweet. Open seven days, including Sunday afternoons.
A café on the corner of Silberburgstraße and Rotebühlstraße, next to Feuersee S-Bahn station, serving specialty coffee and matcha alongside Korean snacks. The food is a big part of the draw: bowls, egg drop sandwiches and Korean tacos. The matcha is freshly prepared and a good everyday option outside the busy centre, and LuDo's hours are unusually long on weekdays, opening at 6:00 and closing at 21:00. That makes it one of the few places in Stuttgart where you can get a matcha on the way to work. Closed on Sundays.
A pastel-toned café in Stuttgart-West specialising in Asian-style cakes: fluffy roll cakes and fine crêpe cakes, less sweet than their European equivalents. The drinks menu has Vietnamese coffee made with robusta imported from Vietnam and several matcha variations, including blueberry and raspberry-rose. Brunch is served too, with savoury crêpes, bowls and bagels. It is a good choice for matcha with cake rather than matcha on its own. Closed on Mondays.
