We're a duo based in Switzerland with a shared obsession: finding exceptional matcha. We've tested cups in Tokyo backstreets, Paris cafés, New York specialty shops, and everywhere in between — and we wanted a better way to share what we found.
Matcha Spot started as a personal project. As we traveled, we kept building little lists of the best spots — places that took the craft seriously, sourced properly, and prepared it with care. The lists grew, and friends started asking for them. So we built this.
Our goal is simple: make it genuinely easy for anyone to find a great matcha, wherever they are in the world. No noise, no filler — just real spots worth visiting.
We're based in Switzerland and test matcha around the world. Every recommendation on this site reflects places we'd actually send a friend.
