Naha is better known for Okinawan bukubuku tea, brown sugar and zenzai than for matcha, but a small cluster of matcha spots has grown around the market streets off Kokusai-dori. We checked candidates in Makishi, Matsuo, Tsuboya, Asato, Shuri and Tomari against strict rules: two sources agreeing on the address, a dated 2026 source showing the cafe trading, and confirmation that it serves matcha. Several of the picks pair Kyoto matcha with Okinawan kokuto, which gives Naha's matcha a taste of its own. All five below are verified open as of October 2026.
A matcha and hojicha specialist near the Makishi market streets that Tabelog records as opening on 3 June 2026, and that Okinawa Story included in its June 2026 new openings. Listings say it uses Uji and Yame matcha, with a matcha latte topped with matcha ice cream and a kokuto matcha latte among the popular orders. A visitor on Threads noted the many tea bowls and that matcha is whisked in front of you.
A long-running Japanese tableware shop by the Daiichi Makishi Public Market that added a small cafe counter. OKITIVE reported in November 2025 that it uses Uji matcha from Yamamasa Koyamaen for drinks and sweets, including a matcha affogato, and a Lemon8 post describes matcha lattes and unusual matcha floats at a few seats out front. The shop's own Threads account was posting in March 2026. Its lit.link page says the cafe opens from around 13:00 on shop days.
A small matcha and bagel shop just outside Sakaemachi Market, a few minutes from Asato monorail station. OKITIVE featured it in August 2026, reporting that matcha is whisked one cup at a time to order and the bagels are made in-house, with a chicken bagel plate as the signature. The market's own site says it shares space near the rotary and keeps early morning hours. Tabelog reviewers mention the matcha latte.
A hidden Japanese tea specialist named after its street address, away from the bustle of Kokusai-dori. OKITIVE profiled it in June 2026, describing a shop that opens around two days a week and chooses tea to suit your mood, brewed with a generous 10g of leaf in a Tokoname teapot. Its set includes ice mochi floating in real matcha, and a Tabelog reviewer ordered a soy milk matcha latte.
A breezy cafe stand on Kokusai-dori that a Trip.com post calls a matcha hotspot. MEGRY reviewed its matcha kokuto latte in March 2026, priced at 750 yen, noting how the bitter matcha and Okinawan brown sugar syrup blend. OKITIVE listed it in its Silver Week 2026 roundup for matcha and fruit sweets and late opening. Reviews also mention an Uji matcha soft serve and matcha sundaes.
