Frisco has no shortage of coffee shops, but serious matcha is a newer arrival. The anchor is Premium Matcha Cafe Maiko, the Hawaii-founded chain that brought Uji matcha and soft serve to the city in 2025. Around it, a handful of independent cafés have built matcha menus worth the drive: Greenova's high-strength tea lattes on Preston Road, Renew's ceremonial matcha in Frisco Square, and the Palestinian and Yemeni-inspired coffee houses Heritage and Rayhan, both of which reviewers single out for their flavoured matcha. We checked each address against two sources and looked for a dated 2026 listing. All five below are verified open as of October 2026.
The Frisco outpost of the Honolulu-born chain opened in May 2025, according to Community Impact, and is the city's only true matcha specialist. CultureMap reports its matcha is sourced from Uji, Japan, and the menu spans matcha teas, lattes, shaved ice and soft serve. Yelp reviewers rave about the matcha soft serve, while others warn the shop is small and often crowded, so weekends can mean a line.
Greenova arrived in the Center at Preston Ridge in mid-2025 with a pitch built around strength: its teas are pulled with a method it calls Dual Phase Pull, per Community Impact. CultureMap counts about half a dozen matcha drinks, including a Matcha Lavender Teatte and a Matcha Strawberry Latte. On Yelp, the Iced Matcha Banana Cream Teatte is among the most photographed items, and reviewers tag it as good for working.
A Frisco Square fixture since January 2020, Renew describes itself on Yelp as a third-wave coffee shop and bakery using ceremonial matcha alongside single-origin coffee, house-made syrups and scratch baking. It is one of the most reviewed cafés in the city on Yelp. Reviews are mixed on value, with one reviewer calling an $8.99 oat milk matcha latte expensive, but the setting on the square makes it an easy stop.
Heritage brings Palestinian and Yemeni coffee traditions to the Rail District, per Community Impact, and its best-known drink is the pistachio latte. Matcha has a real following too: Yelp lists a Matcha Latte on the menu, photos show a mango matcha, and a reviewer on Yelp's Frisco matcha list mentions a pumpkin pie matcha. It holds a 4.8 rating on Yelp.
This Palestinian family-owned café, described by MapQuest as using halal ingredients, has become a quiet matcha favourite in west Frisco. Atly notes its matcha is prepared in-house and highlights strawberry and peach matcha that balance sweetness without bitterness. One Yelp reviewer called it the best matcha they had tried in the DFW area, though others find the prices on the high side.
